Horizon is a non-denominational church made up of people from many different backgrounds coming together to worship Jesus Christ.
Horizon Christian Church began in September of 2005. The founding Pastors, Tom & Linda Anderson, and Heath & Tamarah Montgomery, were compelled to start a church in the Reno-Sparks area.
Before moving into our current location, Horizon Church met in several locations in the area. For the first seven years, Horizon met at Mendive Middle School and Reed High School. It was a huge miracle when Horizon purchased our current land and ministry center in 2012, and moved into the new building in May of 2015.
Everything from the upbeat and inspiring music, to the life-changing and encouraging messages are a part of giving you the opportunity to encounter Jesus. Every week you will be transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit as you experience His love! Horizon is an amazing place to find people to build wonderful friendships with. Join one of our life groups to find not just friends, but a family!
Our mission is to build people, leaders, and families in our city and all over the world. We want to see people encounter the love of Jesus and experience His transforming power in every area of their lives.
Horizon Church is characterized by faith, prayer, love, compassion, inspired preaching, racial diversity, generous giving, ministry to the poor, spiritual worship, gifts of the spirit, international missions, unity, and the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
Horizon Church Is Non-Denominational Church. Horizon is a member of the Hillsong Church Network, The Fathers House Network, and ARC “Association Of Related Churches”.
The goal of Horizon Christian Church is to be a place where Heaven touches earth (a horizon place) for people of all races, ages and economic levels, preaching a message of good news.
Horizon is strategically planted to be a church that draws people from the entire Reno-Sparks area. After all, “If the church is alive, it’s worth the drive!”
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”
